The media are not toys… they can be entrusted only to new artists, because they are art forms.

Living on Mars will radically change our living spaces and the way we interact with our surroundings. In an environment deprived of sensory exposure, how will we combat the psychological stress of interplanetary living? Through a circuit of guided exercises, visitors will embark on a holistic journey of tactile play. This will stimulate the senses in an effort to sustain both physical and mental wellbeing.

This workshop was part of The Everyday Martian, a collaborative experience created by Material Futures in collaboration with the Design Museum’s ‘Moving to Mars’ exhibition. These workshops explored alternative visions of what everyday life on Mars might look like. Visitors were presented with immersive installations that triggered conversations around perceptions of the Red Planet and whether or not we are prepared to move there.
